The Arctic Circle Assembly is the largest annual international gathering on the Arctic, attended by more than 2000 participants from over 60 countries. The Assembly has been held every October since 2013 in Reykjavík, Iceland and is attended by heads of states, governments, ministers, members of parliaments, officials, experts, scientists, entrepreneurs, business leaders, indigenous representatives, environmentalists, students, activists and others from the growing international community of those interested in the future of the Arctic. This year, the Assembly is scheduled for October 8-11.
In addition to the annual Assemblies, the Arctic Circle organizes Forums on specific areas of Arctic cooperation. The Arctic Circle holds these Forums in other countries in addition to the annual Assemblies in Iceland. Such Forums have been held in Shanghai, Seoul, Washington, Québec, Edinburgh, Singapore, Alaska, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. The next Arctic Circle Forums will be held in Berlin, Greenland, Tokyo, and Abu Dhabi.
