Upgraded SWiFT SVP Launched by Valeport

Valeport’s latest and most popular sound speed profiler, the SWiFT SVP, has now been upgraded to provide enhanced versatility and deployment. An improved depth rating and increased pressure accuracy will become standard on the SWiFT profiler.

Following customer feedback, Valeport has introduced this evolution of the SWiFT profiler which is designed with the intention of a seamless workflow at its core, and delivers high accuracy sound velocity, pressure, temperature, salinity and density measurement coupled with the convenience of Bluetooth connectivity, rechargeable battery and an integral GPS module to geo-locate each profile.

Valeport SWiFT upgraded to provide enhanced versatility and deploymentThe improved SWiFT will now operate down to 500m as standard (previous depth rating was 200m), whilst retaining all its popular switching on/off action, LED status indication and Bluetooth communication features. Valeport has also increased the profiler’s pressure accuracy from 0.5% to 0.01% fitting only one 50bar pressure transducer.

Constructed from Titanium for unrivalled durability and with a battery endurance of up to a week, the SWiFT SVP is intended for coastal, harbour and inland hydrographic survey use, and offers the highest quality sound velocity profiles in a compact, robust and portable package.

Valeport has been leading the way in sound velocity technology for over a decade and the SWiFT incorporates Valeport’s world leading high accuracy sensor technology. As Valeport marketing manager, Guy Frankland, commented, Valeport is committed to pushing the boundaries of marine instrumentation to deliver ultimate accuracy: “The SWiFT is our best, professional and affordable SVP to date and is helping to lead the way in supporting hydrographic surveying. However, our focus is to grow and continually improve our portfolio of innovative instruments and these product enhancements to the SWiFT will increase the versatility and precision of this already well-liked profiler.”
