The 13th International Symposium on Biogeochemistry of Wetlands

March 22-25, 2021

Biogeochemistry is an interdisciplinary science which includes the study of interactive biological, geological and chemical processes regulating the fate and transport of nutrients and contaminants in soil, water and atmospheric components of an ecosystem. Biogeochemistry also provides a framework to integrate physical, chemical and biological processes functioning in an ecosystem at various spatial and temporal scales.

In today’s fast paced research world, BioGeo 2021 provides a valuable opportunity to discuss results of new and innovative research activities, exchange ideas of trends and potential for restoration and management, and promote networking and collaboration among practitioners, scientists, researchers, students and industry professionals virtually.

The symposium features a diverse line up of plenary speakers, including Dr. Ilka “Candy” Feller who will be delivering a special presentation on the ‘Causes of a Mangrove Dieback in the Galapagos and its Consequences for the Mangrove Finch’. Also included in the events agenda is a Student Career Panel Tuesday afternoon, a poster session Wednesday evening, a closing plenary and presentation of the Golden Cattail Award on Thursday, and numerous breakout sessions Monday through Thursday with talks on a variety of wetland biogeochemistry topics.
