Editorial Opportunity: ECO Magazine’s Deep Dive II: Marine Environmental Research Now Accepting Submissions

Environment, Coastal & Offshore (ECO) Magazine, an international applied marine science trade publication—in collaboration with Schmidt Ocean Institute and the National Oceanography Centre (NOC)—is accepting content submissions and sponsorships for their Deep Dive II: Marine Environmental Research edition.

ECO’s Deep Dive I: Ocean Observation issue is packed full of multi-media features highlighting the latest in ocean observation collaboration and technology. Content was received by global programs working to solve ocean issues like carbon storage, harmful algal bloom monitoring, and ocean observing communications from the seafloor. The Ocean Observation issue will be published Friday, April 21. Don’t miss out; make sure you’re subscribed.

The second issue in the Deep Dive series is accepting submissions that cover a range of topics, including but not limited to advances in remote sensing and marine acoustics; seafloor and habitat mapping; coastal bathymetry; ports and harbor development; USVs; AUVs; ArcGIS; data acquisition and processing software; sub-bottom profilers; magnetometers; side scan sonar; and more. ECO welcomes submissions in multiple formats: written features, videos, podcasts, maps, and webinars.

Deep Dive II: Marine Environmental Research will offer a unique space for researchers and innovators to give updates and bring awareness to advancements in the applied marine science sector. After the success of the ‘Ocean Observation’ issue, I am excited to see what content submissions we receive for our second installment in the Deep Dive series,” says ECO Editor Haley McQueen.

National Oceanography Centre Chief Executive Professor, Ed Hill CBE, commented: “We’re delighted to be partnering with ECO Magazine alongside Schmidt Ocean Institute on this special deep-dive series which shines a spotlight on key global ocean issues and solutions.

“So much of our ocean is yet to be discovered, and its vital role in regulating our climate, weather, and ecosystems is often overlooked. The topics explored by the series highlight the importance of sensing what is happening in the ocean from the surface to its depths, as well as continuously innovating technology to push the boundaries of exploration.”

Schmidt Ocean Institute's Executive Director, Dr. Jyotika Virmani, added: "By volume, the Ocean is the largest inhabited ecosystem on this planet but it is also the most mysterious. Through human ingenuity and curiosity, scientists now have many tools to access and unravel the world that lies hidden beneath the sea surface. With a mission to catalyze the discoveries needed to understand our Ocean, Schmidt Ocean Institute is pleased to be partnering with the National Oceanography Center and ECO Magazine and we look forward to the exciting content in the Marine Environmental Research Deep Dive special edition."
