The DD-Science will be expected to set up their own research programmes within SAERI and ultimately employ staff (Project Managers/Post-Docs, Project Officers/Graduates and PhD students). The DD-Science will also be expected to line manage a number of the projects that SAERI runs and oversee the science outputs of the organisation, ensuring high-quality project delivery with the accompanying publication of quality papers.

The position will be based in the South Atlantic Environmental Research Institute’s (SAERI’s) head office in Stanley, Falkland Islands, with opportunities to travel to other South Atlantic UKOTs and further afield when required. The DD-Science will report to the Executive Director and the Board’s Science Sub-committee.
