Job: Tidal Energy: Hydrogen Development Manager

The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) in Orkney, Scotland is the world’s leading test facility for wave and tidal energy converters, having supported more real-sea deployments than at any other site in the world.

HYDROGEN DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

£34,538 – £42,213 plus contributory pension
As part of a pioneering project looking to generate hydrogen from tidal and wind energy, EMEC has recently installed an electrolyser at its tidal test site. To support our diversification into this exciting new sector, we are seeking a Hydrogen Development Manager to assess and implement hydrogen related business streams. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for hydrogen related R&D projects as well as establishing export routes for the hydrogen produced from the electrolyser.

An all-round education, with a first degree in a relevant science or business subject, is essential to this role. You will have at least five years’ experience developing or delivering new business in a service or energy sector. This role requires an ambitious, motivated individual with strong commercial acumen.

Whilst the preference is for the post holder to be based in Orkney, consideration will be given to other locations within Scotland. This full-time post is for a fixed term of 2 years initially.
