Nekton Deep Ocean Exploration: Research Internship

Location: Begbroke Science Park, Oxford

Salary: £13,110-13,980 per annum

Hours of work: Full Time

Contract type: Fixed-Term (3 months)

Nekton is seeking two laboratory technicians to assist in the delivery of its science program for Mission II in the Indian Ocean. They will be expected to take responsibility sorting zooplankton samples, and/or assist with annotation of benthic imagery collected with underwater vehicles from shallow and deep-water reef environments in Seychelles. They may also be requirement to assist with logistical tasks.

This is an exciting training opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on approach and is interested in marine biological data analysis and interpretation. There might be opportunities to collaborate with scientists drawn from a range of different institutes in the UK, Seychelles and globally. Participation in offshore activities will not be required.
