The Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission is seeking to fill the role of Ecosystem Recovery Grants Coordinator. The position is located in Olympia, Washington.
Duties and Responsibilities: Assure efficient disbursal and tracking of EPA Puget Sound and other funding sources to the tribes and achieve compliance with federal and state performance standards and reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in fisheries or natural science and three years pertinent work experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in fisheries or natural science and five years pertinent work experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Three years of experience managing grant programs, including developing multi-year work plans to secure funding and subsequent management of subaward program once funds are disbursed.
- Familiarity with tribal salmon recovery projects, the Puget Sound ecosystem, and tribal governments.
- Previous experience working with tribes. Knowledge of research and monitoring methods currently employed to assess ecosystem condition.
- Experience or ability to build cooperative working relationships with tribal and funding agency staff. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
