Ocean Career: Researcher / Science Officer at Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC)

Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC) is seeking applicants for the position of a Researcher/Science Officer.

The Researcher/Science Officer will work with the Palau National Marine Sanctuary (PNMS) Project Manager, PICRC researchers, other researchers and stakeholders within Palau and internationally, to implement the Science and Monitoring Strategy for the PNMS.

The Researcher/Science Officer will support the development of research projects pertaining to the PNMS, identify opportunities for joint research/collaborative research expeditions and help facilitate and be actively involved in research in Palau that will contribute to the management of the PNMS. The Researcher/Science Officer will also be involved in communicating the science about PNMS to stakeholders and the public at large.

This position requires a minimum of a Master’s Degree in marine biology, ecology, oceanography, coastal and pelagic fishery, fishery management or other related field from an accredited college or university.
