Production Technician Opportunity at Ocean Sonics

Ocean Sonics is a world-class innovation house that designs and builds high quality sensor systems for technology leaders in the offshore energy and ocean industries.

Ocean Sonics has an opportunity for a motivated Production Technician at their main office in Great Village, Nova Scotia. (Moving to Truro Heights in February 2019).

Production Duties

  • Building and testing electronic products
  • Minor repairs of circuit card assemblies
  • Working with potting material for the purpose of waterproofing product
  • Data recording/record keeping
  • Calibrating equipment
  • Inventory counts and reconciliations

Requirements

  • Electronics Technician/Technologist certificate required or equivalent

Experience

  • Background in technical repairs with mechanical or electronic equipment required

Skills

  • Hand soldering fine pitch components is essential
  • Must possess basic computer skills
  • Assembly, disassembly, repair, quality inspection
  • Must have sufficient manual dexterity with small hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers and tweezers)

Competencies

  • Good communication skills (verbal and written) are required
  • Ability to follow work instructions and manuals
  • Quality and productivity of work is very important
