BOEM Announces Scoping Review for Proposed 2017-2022 Gulf of Mexico Lease Sales

The Interior Department’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management recently announced that it is seeking scoping comments by May 29 on the development of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the ten Gulf of Mexico oil and gas lease sales that are currently proposed to be held from 2017-2022.

The scoping process is intended to provide agencies and the public with an opportunity to help BOEM determine significant resources and issues, impacting factors, reasonable alternatives, and potential mitigating measures to be analyzed in the EIS and to provide additional information.
