The Interior Department’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) seeks comments on its request for nominations and comments regarding the 10 region-wide Gulf of Mexico lease sales that have been included in the Draft Proposed 2017-2022 OCS Oil and Gas Leasing Program.
BOEM specifically seeks information and nominations on oil and gas leasing, exploration, development, and production within the proposed Gulf of Mexico sale area (Western, Central, and portion of Eastern Gulf not subject to congressional moratorium).

BOEM also recently announced that it is seeking comments on its draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement for proposed Gulf of Mexico Western Planning Area Lease Sale 248 (2016).
The proposed action would offer for lease all unleased Western Gulf blocks, other than whole and partial blocks within the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary.
BOEM also announced the availability of a Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (Final SEIS) for Central Gulf of Mexico Lease Sales 241 (2016) and 247 (2017) and Eastern Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale 226 (2016).
BOEM proposes to offer for lease all unleased blocks within the Central Planning Area other than those areas deferred by the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act of 2006 and blocks adjacent to/beyond the U.S Exclusive Economic Zone in the northern portion of the Eastern Gap, as well as all unleased blocks within the Eastern Planning Area.
