BOEM has released the latest edition of BOEM Ocean Science magazine, which focuses on the multi-faceted work of BOEM’s Marine Minerals Program (MMP). The program helps18 coastal states manage and prepare for the impacts of coastal erosion, while benefiting the Nation as a whole in many respects.
This issue includes articles from BOEM scientists describing coastal restoration projects and environmental and non-energy mineral resource studies.
It also includes a piece on a major new initiative to develop a National Offshore Sand Inventory that will help reduce response time after major storms by providing coastal communities valuable information when they need it and to help plan for the future.
