National Ocean Sciences Bowl Regional Contests Upcoming

Each February, one of the only ways students gain exposure to all of ocean science and related careers holds regional competitions across the United States.

The National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) is an academic competition and program that addresses a national gap in environmental and earth sciences in public education by introducing high school students to and engaging them in ocean science, preparing them for ocean science-related and other STEM careers, and helping them become knowledgeable citizens and environmental stewards.

The winning team from each of the regional competitions advances to the Finals Competition.

Refer to the competition map and contact the regional coordinator in your region for more information on registering a team.

The winning team from each of the regional competitions advances to the NOSB Finals Competition, usually held in April. The location for the NOSB Finals Competition changes annually. Typically, the top 2-3 winning teams at NOSB Finals win an experiential award trip to exciting locations.
