Lilani Dunn Promoted to Executive Director of BBRSDA

The Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association (BBRSDA) is pleased to announce the promotion of Lilani Dunn to Executive Director. Dunn joined BBRSDA to head marketing in 2020.

The BBRSDA is a fisherman driven organization with the goal of increasing the value of the Bristol Bay fishery for the benefit of its members. In addition to Bristol Bay’s marketing program, which is anchored in retail and foodservice promotions in the US and Canada, the BBRSDA also executes quality, sustainability, and fleet outreach programs.

Dunn is a seafood industry veteran with a breadth of experience within the sector. Prior to joining BBRSDA, Dunn previously held staff positions with Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute and Orca Bay Foods. She is currently an active member of National Fisheries Institute, is president of Northwest Fisheries Association and serves as chair of ASMI’s Domestic Marketing Committee.

“We, the board, are looking forward to having Lilani in this new role in leading our organization into the future,” said Fritz Johnson, BBRSDA Board Chair. “The marketing program is our single biggest program and we have seen tremendous growth and success under her leadership. While we recognize that marketing alone will not overcome all of the global market challenges our industry is facing, we feel confident that Lilani’s proven leadership, experience and ability to work with all facets of the industry will benefit our members.”

Dunn sees many opportunities for Bristol Bay in a changing global market landscape. “The marketing messaging that we have to tell is unmatched. We have a world class fishery, premium salmon, and the passion of our fishermen to set us apart. I see a lot of opportunity for Bristol Bay through building meaningful relationships, creative and strategic marketing and of course, an always-on focus on quality. I look forward to strengthening Bristol Bay’s brand value for the benefit of our members. We know the market situation is daunting right now, but I see a lot of opportunity for Bristol Bay to shine.”
