Business Is Booming for World Leading Environmental Consultancy

The environmental consultancy, Eunomia Research & Consulting Ltd, which is headquartered at Queen Square in Bristol, UK, and has offices at six other locations around the world, has grown by 94 percent both in terms of sales revenue and number of staff in the last five years.

Founded in 2001 by Chairman Dominic Hogg, Eunomia now has 105 employees across three continents and is one of the world’s leading environmental consultancies, working alongside national governments, international NGOs, global corporations and SMEs.

Over the past 18 years the consultancy has expanded its service offering from waste management to include air quality, climate change, renewable energy, the natural environment, and sustainable business. The two latest additions to the wide scope of Eunomia’s work are a team of climate emergency strategy specialists, and a new sustainable future transport service.

In addition to expanding its range of services, Eunomia has also grown internationally. The company’s progressive benefits package and commitment to continuous learning and development have resulted in those moving overseas choosing to set up new offices with them rather than leave the company. In 2008 the first overseas office was established in New Zealand, followed in 2013 by the first European office in Brussels, where the consultancy continues to produce high-level research for the European Commission. The first US office opened in New York in 2017, and has been growing as it develops its offering to the US states and Canadian provinces, as well as foundations and corporations. The second European office opened in Athens, Greece in 2018 and the team is already appointing new staff and working with blue-chip organizations in Eunomia’s specialist areas.

The consultancy has benefited from local support, including the £75,000 funding it received from the West of England Growth Fund in 2014. Founder and Chairman Dominic Hogg said:

“We are fortunate to have had fantastic support along the way from regional funds, which helped us to grow in number and in influence. We’ve moved from primarily UK-based work to conducting influential projects on the international stage, and we couldn’t be more proud of our roots here in Bristol, the city where I was born. We plan on building on our current momentum to take on ever-more challenging projects, ensuring that our work helps alleviate a climate crisis, improves air quality, enhances the natural environment and achieves a more circular economy.”

Commenting on the West of England Growth Funding awarded to Eunomia in 2014, West of England Mayor, Tim Bowles, said:

“The West of England has made a strong commitment to tackling climate change. We were very pleased to support Eunomia through the West of England Growth Fund, with funding from the Local Enterprise Partnership. Strong and successful businesses like this are helping to protect the climate and environment upon which we and future generations depend – not just regionally but nationally and internationally too.”
