CSA Ocean Sciences Acquires Tombo Environmental, LLC

CSA Ocean Sciences Inc. (CSA), a marine environmental consulting and survey company, announced that it has completed the acquisition of Tombo Environmental, LLC (Tombo), a consulting firm specializing in complex environmental sampling techniques and research and development of sampling equipment. As part of the agreement, Ian Stupakoff, the Founder and Principal of Tombo, joins CSA’s growing Science Department team as a Senior Scientist and Director of Sediment Profile Imaging (SPI) Sciences, based out of Olympia, Washington State.

Tombo, led by Mr. Stupakoff, brings more than two decades of experimental design, analytical laboratory work, and international field sampling expertise to CSA, with a specific focus on SPI. Mr. Stupakoff’s extensive experience in managing marine contaminant characterization projects, environmental baseline studies, and long-term monitoring programs makes him a perfect fit for CSA as the firm continues to expand its environmental sampling and imaging capabilities. All of Tombo’s legacy services and resources are now available through CSA’s domestic and international offices.

“We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Tombo for over a decade, and we are delighted to formally announce this acquisition and welcome Ian to the CSA family,” announced CSA’s Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Peterson. “This latest acquisition is a testament to CSA’s unwavering commitment to providing offshore industries with the leading tools, techniques, and teams to deliver best-in-class multidisciplinary marine environmental survey services across the globe.”

Speaking of the announcement, Mr. Stupakoff added: “Having partnered with CSA in the past, I am excited to bring Tombo’s expertise in the design and deployment of marine sampling and data collection systems, in particular SPI technologies, to further enhance CSA’s services to the offshore industry.”
