Newcomer RanaWorks Brings Fresh Ideas to the North Sea Energy Market

On 22 January 2018, newly formed RanaWorks B.V. introduced an innovative concept to the market of inspection, repair and maintenance in the North Sea offshore wind and oil & gas markets. The concept evolves around the seamless integration of subsea and above waterline services in order to achieve value without compromising safety and quality.

The goal is to operate large floating maintenance bases, permanently stationed in the North Sea to offer fast, flexible and efficient solutions to multiple marine asset owners and operators in wind, oil and gas.

The business concept of RanaWorks is based upon the expertise and experience of its founders: RANA Diving SpA from Italy and Workships Contractors BV from the Netherlands. The latter has been a marine asset manager and vessel operator for nearly 30 years, with extensive experience in the offshore oil & gas and wind industries. RANA has more than 50 years’ experience in commercial diving and subsea operations, which includes owning, developing and operating air and saturation diving systems, as well as engineering and survey.

Decommissioning
RanaWorks delivers integrated solutions by the use of diving, observation and workclass ROVs, working at height and rope access services, through all stages of the offshore asset lifetime, ranging from preliminary surveys and installation support, to inspection, repair and maintenance and lifetime extension services and decommissioning. This includes non-destructive testing by means of ACFM, MPI, FMD, ultrasonic thickness, cathodic potential, ultrasonic flaw detection and other systems.
