RS Aqua are pleased to announce that they have exclusively partnered with Riptide Autonomous Solutions to bring Riptide’s unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) technology to the UK and Ireland.

Riptide Autonomous Solutions are developers and manufacturers of a family of man portable Autonomous Undersea Vehicles. All Riptide vehicles are suitable for short and long endurance missions, with multiple sensor options for different mission types.

Riptide launched their smallest form factor micro UUV (µUUV) in late 2015, with the first commercial deliveries in early 2016. Since then, the technology has developed and matured, now with an established list of customers and collaborators using these class-leading vehicles in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.

Riptide UUV Family

Riptide have since developed larger form factor UUVs, with vehicle diameters at 4.875”, 7.5” and 9.375”, and from 22” to 60” in length, allowing for many modular configurations of for navigation, sensor and power technologies.

Larger vehicles better accommodate large sensor payloads and very long endurance missions. All of Riptides vehicles share the benefits of ease of use, modular and versatile construction, ultra-low power consumption, best in class hydrodynamics, and low cost. The UUV family also shares a common open-source operating system allowing users to simply integrate their own sensor payloads.

RS Aqua are pleased to already be working with a number of UK science and government users of Riptide UUV technology, which complements RS Aqua’s established range of high performance, proven and easy to use marine science technologies.
