Ocean Career: Aquatic Environmental Services Fisheries Technician

  • Call and confirm electrofishing appointments with clients.
  • Assists with the development of efficient routes to appointments.
  • Maintains opportunities, etc. in CRM.
  • In-depth knowledge base in all aspects of fisheries management.
  • Independently operates electrofishing equipment in a proficient and safe manner.
  • Maintains all electrofishing equipment.
  • Conducts electrofishing surveys.
  • Promptly writes electrofishing reports communicating findings and recommendations to client.
  • Conducts follow ups on all electrofishing clients, completed or in process.
  • Identify potential issues on site with visual clues.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Assist AES staff as needed (Live fish hauling and stocking, product installations, etc.).

Electrofishing season is spring and fall. Outside of those seasons, responsibilities include fish hauling, working on lakes by doing product installations and assisting on projects where needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Must Haves:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office).
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Ability to safely operate half-ton trucks up to two-ton trucks on and off-road.
  • Excellent trailering skills.
  • Ability to drive/navigate motorized boats.
  • Excellent map reading skills.
  • Enjoy working with fish, water, and other outdoor minded people.
  • Able to pivot as necessary to changing work needs.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves:

  • CRM experience
  • Report Writing
  • Bachelor’s degree (Biology, Fisheries, Wildlife Management, related field)
  • Sales experience

Salary: from $17.50
