Ocean Career: Sea Engineering Professional Engineer/Diver

Sea Engineering is an employee-owned coastal and ocean engineering, marine construction, and industrial diving services company founded in 1973. Our headquarters are based in Honolulu, Hawaii. Sea Engineering also has offices in Waimanalo, Hawaii, and Santa Cruz, California.

Sea Engineering, Inc., is seeking an experienced Professional Engineer-Diver for our Santa Cruz, California office.

Candidate must be willing to travel on short notice and for extended periods of time.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise inspection and reporting efforts for underwater and above-water inspections of waterfront/marine structures and bridges.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Underwater inspection of waterfront / marine structures and bridges
  • Preparation of reports and other professional documents
  • Engineering analysis and design
  • Construction drawings and specifications
  • Regulatory permitting
  • Operation and maintenance of inspection and diving equipment
  • Communicate with clients, subcontractors, fellow SEI employees, and others for job-related activities

Required Skill/Abilities:

  • California PE (Civil or Structural, required)
  • ADCI commercial diver (required)
    • ADCI Dive supervisor (preferred)
  • NHI UW Bridge Inspector (required)
    • NHI Bridge Inspection Team Leader (preferred)
  • All dive certifications should be current including dive physical, CPR/FA, & Emergency Oxygen
  • Must be able to obtain a DBIDS and TWIK card

Education and Experience:

  • BS in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 3–5 years’ experience in waterfront/marine underwater inspection

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift 50 lbs. or 100 lbs. in tandem

Compensation:

This role’s base pay range is between $85,000–$120,000 annually.
