The is a temporary position working full-time or part-time hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The successful Intern will be able to transition efficiently from one project to the next and be flexible with regards to coordination of equipment and personnel across tasks.
- Lab work on benthic infauna samples (sorting and identification, QA/QC tasks, data entry, maintenance of chain of custody for received samples, laboratory equipment inventory)
- Organize benthic invertebrate data in Microsoft Excel
- Data management tasks
- Ship sorted laboratory samples to Taxonomists
- Organize archived laboratory samples
- Additional tasks as assigned, in support of laboratory success and efficiency
- All responsibilities done in partnership with, and under the direction of, Laboratory Manager
Qualified candidates will hold, or be in pursuit of, a Bachelor’s Degree in a science related field, with Junior level standing, or higher.
