BOEM Announces Environmental Study Reports Posted for Q1 FY 2015

The Environmental Studies Program (ESP) announces the availability of 13 recently completed study reports. These final reports were posted online via the Environmental Studies Program Information System from November - December 2014. The new postings relay findings from regional studies for Alaska, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Pacific. The reports and associated technical summaries can be accessed through the Environmental Studies Program Information System (ESPIS).

They include reports on:

Alaska:

• Estimators for Loss of Well Control Occurrence and Size for the Alaska OCS;

• Updates to Fault Tree Methodology and Technology for Risk Analysis of Chukchi Sea Sale 193;

• Shorezone Mapping of the North Slope of Alaska;

• Kachemak Bay Experimental and Monitoring Studies in Seasonally Disturbed Rocky-Intertidal Habitat;

• History and analysis of mitigation and monitoring effectiveness on Inupiaq subsistence activities from oil industry operations;

• Chukchi Sea Impact Monitoring for Offshore Subsistence Hunting near Wainwright and Point Lay;

• Distribution and Migratory Patterns of Spectacled Eider sea ducks; and an

• Arctic Air Quality Modeling Study.

Gulf of Mexico:

• Current-Topography Interaction and its Influence on Walter Quality and Contaminant Transport over Shelf-Edge at the Flower Garden Banks;

• Year 2011 Gulfwide Emissions Inventory Study;

• A four-volume socio-economic study of Gulf Coast Communities and the Fabrication and Shipbuilding Industry; and

• Current Measurements in the Yucatan-Campeche Area related to the Loop Current.

Pacific:

• Aerial Seabird and Marine Mammal Surveys off Northern California, Oregon and Washington.
