Interior Seeks Nominations for U.S. EITI Advisory Committee

The Interior Department is seeking nominations by Tuesday, March 31 for individuals to be considered as members and/or alternates of the U.S. Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative Advisory Committee.

Nominations are requested from representatives of industry (including non-federal representatives from the extractive industry and mining companies and industry-related trade associations), government (including federal, state, local, and tribal), and civil society (including entities with an interest in extractive industries, transparency, and government oversight) to fill current vacancies and build a roster of eligible, qualified applicants to be considered for any future potential vacancies.

The Committee oversees U.S. implementation of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative. Participating EITI nations are required to disclose certain oil, gas, and mining development revenues to an independent reconciler, while companies are required to make disclosures of payments to the government that are then made public.
