Deep Trekker Inc. is currently seeking a Business Development ROCKSTAR to be based from their Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada offices. As a customer facing driver of new robotics business at Deep Trekker Inc., you will assume responsibility for the generation of sales originating from customers and reseller channels in a variety of industries around the world. This role offers the opportunity for worldwide travel, 360-degree account ownership, and a fun work environment with a young, energetic team.

The task of the Business Development Representative is to increase the Company’s sales for its Remotely Operated Vehicles. Deep Trekker Inc. is headquartered in Kitchener-Waterloo, ON.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving ROV sales to meet/exceed annual revenue targets in select industries and regions;
  • Promoting the awareness of the Deep Trekker products and building long term relationships with operators, channels, and prime contractors;
  • Managing leads, accounts, and reseller channels through consistent and proactive communication
  • Monitoring industry media for suitable business opportunities;
  • Actively prospecting and reaching out to potential customers by using trade publications, media, internet research and social media in order to drive new business for Deep Trekker products
  • Preparing all quotations, paperwork, and invoices to complete sales and manage accounts
  • Ensuring that Deep Trekker is included on all relevant bid lists for procurement in government and military;
  • Overseeing the preparation of pre-qualification submissions
  • Following-up with clients on submitted bids and ensuring that clarification requests and questions are responded to;
  • Participating in and leading client negotiations;
  • Ensuring delivery of products by working closely with the manufacturing and shipping departments
  • Assisting and coordinating in the preparation of technical documentation such as sample procedures, schedules and training;
  • Providing weekly reports;
  • Consistent daily data input and updating of the CRM system;
  • Assisting sales of selective long term and channel opportunities;
  • Maintain knowledge on current product features, pricing, offerings, policies, and procedures;
  • Provide customer service on proposed systems, and post-sales support and customer service
  • Develop product quotations for new and existing customers
  • Make and deliver invoices and track payments, shipments and other details
  • Manage incoming customer calls and conduct outbound proactive calls to existing leads or customers
  • Perform administrative duties such as managing sales database, spreadsheets and processing POs
  • Schedule services for customers based on internal resources and requirements
  • Communicate with all customers and internal staff in a respectful and informative manner
  • Promote the company’s products at tradeshows and open house events
  • Attend regular sales meetings to review accounts and brainstorm strategies
  • Research new markets and provide reports, lead lists, and other information as requested
  • Respond to inbound sales emails
  • Answer inbound sales calls
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Travelling domestically and overseas

Desired Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate is wicked smart, with an unnatural level of energy and ability to get stuff done.

  • You must ooze enthusiasm, and thrive where things move lightning fast! Must have experience in sales and leadership;
  • a similar sales and marketing role in the subsea services market is an asset, but not required
  • You must possess the ability to communicate with people who are hardworking, “in the trenches” types, but be equally polished and confident enough to deal with high level C-execs and government personnel
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills;
  • Able to understand technical concepts and turn a wrench from time to time;
  • Confident at using MS Office, CRM, and accounting software;
  • Flawless English writing and speech; Other languages an asset
  • Creative thinker, Self-starter;
  • Ability to travel worldwide EXTENSIVELY at a moment’s notice
